Absurd Words

In reference to your April 3 article, "Lawmakers defend gun bill vote": In the article state Rep. Gene DiGirolamo said, "I will not put people who are good citizens in jeopardy just because they did not know that their gun was lost or stolen."

I certainly hope DiGirolamo was misquoted. If not, he never, ever again deserves a single vote to be re-elected to any public office.

How can "a good citizen," one who is given the right to bear arms, not be responsible for maintaining the security of said firearm(s), and in doing so not be held accountable for not reporting if said firearm(s) are lost or stolen, especially since that person has three days to do so.

The statement, if true, is one of the most absurd to come out of a person who is supposed to represent us. Therefore, if true, he no longer deserves to represent us.
